Toyota Malaysia to include five GR Sport models this year

KUALA LUMPUR: Toyota Malaysia’s recent social media post reveals that the brand plans to introduce five GR models in its lineup. Three of these will be launched locally this year namely, the GR Corolla, the manual Supra, and the new GR86. Joining them would be the Corolla Cross GR Sport and the Hilux GR Sport.

The teaser revealed the GR models to debut on February 17th, 2023, that’s just a few days from now, thus making the whole deal all the more exciting.

Toyota confirmed the arrival of the GR Corolla, 6-speed manual Supra, and new GR86 last year itself. They will be joining the likes of the automatic GR Supra and the GR Yaris. Together all the Toyota GR models will be a super treat for the driving enthusiast.

Let’s get to know upcoming Toyota GR models in detail -

Toyota GR Corolla

It will be powered by a beefed-up GR Yaris sourced engine making a maximum power of 304 hp along with a peak torque of 370 Nm. The drive would be sent to all four wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.

Toyota GR86

A popular choice among drive enthusiasts, the GR84 will be powered by the brand’s FA24 engine making 235 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The power will be sent to the rear wheels either via a 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission.

Toyota Supra

Making its global debut back in April 2022, the Malaysia-spec model will be powered by a 3.0-liter turbo engine pumping out 387 hp of power and 500 Nm of torque. The power plant will be coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission.
