Toyota C+pod ultra-compact battery EV now available for the general public
KUALA LUMPUR: The C+pod ultra-compact battery electric vehicle was sold by Toyota exclusively to select corporate customers only. And now the automaker has announced that it will start selling the EV to corporate customers and the general public.

Dimensions
The C+pod EV measures 2400 mm in length, 1200 mm in width, and 1500 mm in height.
Seating capacity
With the batteries mounted just below the rear seat, the C+pod ultra-compact EV can seat only two individuals.
Electric range & charge
Owners can plug the C+pod directly into a standard power outlet. And for power outages and natural disasters, the EV even comes with an external power supply of up to 1500 watts. With all that charge, the EV offers an electric range of 150 km.
Design
The C+pod exterior looks bare and to save some weight the exterior panels are made of recycled plastic. Also, as can seen in the images, the EV gets LED lighting units both front and rear.
Safety
As impressive as it may sound, the Toyota C+pod EV comes equipped with a Pre-collision Safety System that warns the driver about vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists day and night. At low-speed operations, it even offers autonomous braking.
