The Perodua SUV will be called Aruz

KUALA LUMPUR: Thanks to the holes in our automobile industry, the details of the new and upcoming vehicles keep leaking. These are probably the only leaks we do not have any issue with, right? Now with the latest leak of a leaflet, we know what the upcoming SUV by Perodua will be called. Ready? The SUV will be called Aruz. Based on the Toyota Rush, the Aruz will also be a three-row seven-seater vehicle.

There is quite a buzz in our automotive world at the moment because of the Perodua Aruz. With the leak of a leaflet and then the start of bookings, the Aruz has taken everyone by storm. But why Aruz? What does this word have in it that Perodua couldn’t resist naming its newest SUV Aruz? Let’s find out.

The name Aruz has been inspired by the Bahasa Malaysia word arus. Now you would be guessing what does arus mean? Well, the Bahaha Malaysia word arus means “flow”. According to Perodua, the name Aruz portrays “the act of continuous dynamic motion that signifies progress,” which in turn depicts the ability of the SUV to “elevate your life”, which is also the slogan of the Aruz.

The Perodua Aruz will be a seven-seater SUV based on the Toyota Rush. The SUV will feature body-on-frame construction and will house a 1.5-litre 2NR four-pot petrol mill mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission unit. The powertrain is claimed to provided with an overwhelming mileage of 15.6 km/litre, however, only time will tell if the Aruz will stand on the claim or not.
