While the Indonesia-spec BYD M6 comes in six and seven-seater versions, the one available in the Land of Smiles comes only in six-seating (2-2-2) layout. The MPV features a 6-way power driver's seat adjustment, a 4-way power passenger's seat adjustment, and a front seat ventilation system for enhanced comfort.

Inspired by the BYD Dynasty Series, the M6 boasts a Dragon Face 3.0 front grille with LED headlights and LED daytime running lights. The front also houses a full-width silver bar with the BYD script and wing-shaped front bumper inserts. Accentuating the vehicle’s side profile are aluminium side sills and 17-inch two-tone dynamic design alloy wheels. On the rear, we can find full-width tail lights integrating a subtle chrome strip.

As for safety, BYD M6 comes packed with advanced gears ensuring the safety of the onboard passengers as well as other road users. Depending on the variant chosen, it gets six airbags, stability control, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, emergency lane keeping assist, lane centring assist, door opening warning, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Under the skin, the base-spec MPV carries a single electric motor, which delivers a maximum power of 163 PS and a peak torque of 310 Nm. The Extended trim, on the other hand, is equipped with a more powerful motor tuned to generate 204 PS and the same 310 Nm of torque.

Feeding the Dynamic trim is a 55.4 kWh Blade Battery, offering a NEDC-claimed range of 420 km. The M6 Extended variant comes with a larger 71.8 kWh Blade Battery that lets it cruise up to 530 km on a single charge.

BYD Thailand offers an 8-year/150,000 kilometres battery warranty on the purchase of the M6.

When will the BYD M6 come to Malaysia?

While there’s no official confirmation yet, the BYD M6 is likely to arrive in Malaysia, given the growing MPV market and the popularity of BYD EVs. It could be a strong electric alternative to seven-seater SUVs.
