Tesla Model 3 Highland bookings open in Malaysia, price begins at RM 189k

KUALA LUMPUR: The much-anticipated Tesla Model 3 facelift finally made its global debut earlier this morning and immediately after it, the ordering books for the EV opened in Malaysia. Tesla has listed the upgraded Model 3 on the local website revealing its variants and pricing information.

    Tesla Model 3 Highland

    The upgraded version of the EV is dubbed as the ‘Tesla Model 3 Highland’. It is offered in two variants in Malaysia - Rear-Wheel Drive and Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive Long Range, priced at RM 189,000 and RM 218,000, respectively. Tesla confirms that the deliveries of the EV will begin later this year.

    The RWD variant is equipped with a single electric model enabling the EV to run from a standstill to 100 kmph in 6.1 seconds and clock a top speed of 201 kmph. While no output numbers and battery capacity are yet listed on the local website, the automaker confirms its driving range i.e. 513 km (on the WLTP cycle).

    The dual motor AWD trim, on the contrary, is faster as it hits the century sprint in 4.4 seconds. Also, the range is higher at 629 km due to a bigger battery.

    Design-wise, the Tesla Model 3 facelift benefits from new bumpers, sleeker front lights, prominent LED DRLs, and new tail lights. The re-styled dashboard gets customisable dash trim with LED lighting, new trims, a new steering wheel, and improved materials.

    The EV features 18-inch Photon wheels, an all-glass roof, a hi-tech 15.4-inch central touchscreen unit, ventilated seats, a 17-speaker audio system, and several active safety features as standard. The list of available optional equipment includes - 

    • 19-inch Nova wheels - RM 7,500
    • Enhanced Autopilot - RM 16,000
    • Full Self-Driving Capability - RM 32,000

    Tesla Model 3 Highland

    The standard colour option is Pearl White Multi-Coat, with Solid Black and Deep Blue Metallic adding RM 5,000 to the price. Opting for Stealth Grey or Ultra Red will result in price increases of RM 7,500 and RM 11,000, respectively.
