Tesla Malaysia introduces exciting new colour options for Model Y

KUALA LUMPUR: Tesla Malaysia has upgraded the colour palette of the Model Y with the addition of three new options. The new colours, named Quicksilver, Stealth Grey, and Ultra Red, are now available on Tesla's online configurator.

Notably, the new Ultra Red colour replaces the previous Red Multi-Coat option, offering a fresh and striking red hue. Additionally, Tesla has replaced the Midnight Silver colour with two distinct shades of grey – the darker Stealth Grey and the lighter Quicksilver, providing customers with more choices to suit their preferences. While the Quicksilver is exclusively available for the Model Y, Stealth Grey and Ultra Red can also be found on the new Tesla Model 3 Highland colour palette.

Customers choosing any of the newly added colours have to pay an additional price, which is RM 7,500 for Quicksilver and Stealth Grey, and RM 11,000 for the vibrant Ultra Red.

The existing range of the Tesla Model Y colour options includes Pearl White Multi-Coat, Deep Blue Metallic, and Solid Black. The Pearl White Multi-Coat comes at no additional cost; however, for Deep Blue Metallic and Solid Black, Tesla charges an extra amount of RM 5,000.

As a quick recap, the Tesla Model Y comes in three variants in Malaysia - RWD, Long Range AWD, and Performance AWD, priced at RM 199,000, RM 246,000, and RM 288,000 respectively. 

The RWD trim has a single rear-mounted electric motor with 347 PS and 420 Nm. The Long Range and Performance variants use a dual-motor AWD setup with 514 PS and 493 Nm for the Long Range, and 534 PS and 660 Nm for the Performance.

The base Model Y comes with a 57.5 kWh battery pack, offering a WLTP-claimed range of 430 km. The Long Range and Performance versions have a larger 75 kWh battery, offering 533 km for the Long Range and 514 km for the Performance.

With each purchase of the EV, Tesla Malaysia provides a 4-year/80,000 km manufacturing and an 8-year/160,000 km battery & drive unit warranty.
