Suzuki eVX electric SUV concept debuts at GIIAS 2024
KUALA LUMPUR: Just like other automakers around the world, Suzuki is also ready to embrace electrification. The Japanese automaker unveiled its first electric concept, the eVX electric SUV, initially at the 2023 Auto Expo India and later at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show. Now, Suzuki brings its first EV to the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), giving a pleasant surprise to automotive enthusiasts.

Equipped with a 60 kWh battery pack, the Suzuki eVX concept offers a driving range of up to 550 km.According to Minoru Amano, President Director of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales, the brand has a “Carbon Neutral Strategy” to support sustainability efforts in the transportation industry. This includes offering hybrid models in Indonesia, such as the Ertiga, Grand Vitara, and XL7. The hybrid Suzuki models have become quite popular in the country with the brand delivering 25,000 units. Well, now Suzuki Indonesia has introduced its first pure electric car, which is set to make its global debut in 2025.
The Suzuki eVX measures 4,300 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height, and carries a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. The exterior design features a boxy front, sleek headlights, and bold wheel arches with body cladding. At the rear lies a chunky bumper, connected LED tail lamps, and a prominent skid plate. According to the automaker, the EV boasts SUV DNA with its 4x4 drive capability.
The cabin has a minimalist look with Mercedes-like dual integrated displays for infotainment and instrument panel. The EV gets a floating dashboard with 3D lines and a two-spoke steering wheel with a rotary knob in the lower central console.
As for the Suzuki eVX battery and range specifications, the automaker confirms a 60 kWh pack with a driving range of up to 550 km.
Will the Suzuki eVX come to Malaysia?
Well, no official information is yet available on the Suzuki eVX's arrival in Malaysia. However, given its debut in Indonesia, Suzuki is likely to introduce the EV in neighbouring markets like Malaysia in the future.
