KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian electric vehicle space will soon welcome a new entrant i.e. the highly-awaited smart #1. The automaker has announced the launch date for the EV via its social media channel, and it is set for November 21, 2023. As already known, the smart EVs will be distributed by Proton’s dedicated subsidiary “Pro-Net” in Malaysia.

- The smart #1 Brabus is a high-performance variant that runs on a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup kicking out 428 PS and 543 Nm. This allows the EV to complete the century sprint in just 3.9 seconds
- The Pro trim comes mated to a 49-kWh LFP battery pack offering a range of 315 km while Premium/Brabus gets a 66kWh NMC unit with a range of 400-440 km
- Depending on the variant picked, the exterior comes kitted with CyberSparks Matrix LED headlamps, sequential turn signals, a panoramic roof, and a powered tailgate with hands-free access
- The key interior highlights include - a 9.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch head-up display, a 12.8-inch infotainment unit, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control, powered front seats with heating and ventilation function, and 64-colour ambient lighting
- The Brabus variant exclusively features an aero kit, red exterior accents, 19-inch ‘Dynamo’ two-tone items, Brabus emblems, a grey/red interior theme, microfibre seat upholstery, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel
