In Q1 2022, Hyundai/Inokom sold 334 cars.For Q1 2022, the vehicle sales in the country showed nearly a 13 percent hike, giving the sector recovery hopes.
Speaking figuratively, 159,752 cars were sold during the first four months of the year, accounting for a nearly 13 percent hike over the previous year's sales in Q1.

What interests us more is the question: Which carmaker sold the maximum cars in Q1 2022?
Securing the top-most spot is our very-own national carmaker Perodua with 61,624 units sold and registering a 6.4 percent hike over Q1 2021 sales.
Following it is another national carmaker, Proton, which sold a total of 25,589 units. Compared to the sales of the same period last year, the carmaker experienced a 21.1 percent drop in sales. The carmaker attributed the sharp drop to the global semiconductor shortage.

Next up in line is Toyota with 22,447 units, Honda with 20,447 units, and Mitsubishi with 5,885 units.

Out of all the automakers, Hyundai and Volkswagen showcased a stunning hike over last year's figures with a 97.6 and 71.9 percent growth, respectively. The model that contributed the most to VW sales is the Arteon sedan.

Apart from Proton, the only other automaker to have experienced a drop in the sales compared to Q1 2021 is Ford. We hope these brands will perform much better in the upcoming quarter with new launches (2022 Saga) and initiatives (like the Ford Ranger Getaways).
