Proton accepts govt’s RM 1,000 voucher for servicing and part down payment for a new car
KUALA LUMPUR: A couple of days back, the Malaysian Ministry of Finance announced a ‘Keluarga Malaysia Automotive Discount Voucher’ worth RM 1,000 for the repair of flood-damaged vehicles in the country. After Perodua, Proton has also welcomed this initiative of the government and started accepting the automotive discount voucher for the repair of Proton cars damaged due to the flash floods.

Not only for servicing, but the national carmaker is also accepting this discount voucher as a part downpayment if the customer books a new car in the case of total damage to the existing vehicle due to flood. This is subjected to terms and conditions.
“With so many Malaysians affected by the recent floods, any form of assistance rendered could prove invaluable. Proton is heeding the call to step forward and would like to announce we are fully supportive of the government’s automotive discount voucher initiative,” the company said in a statement.
“The damage caused by the floods last year was unprecedented and thousands of Proton owners have been badly affected. To date, our service centres have received 1,023 flood damaged vehicles and we are expecting more in the coming weeks. Considering this, the discount voucher initiative is highly appreciated as it will assist our owners to get back on the road as quickly as possible,” said new deputy CEO Roslan Abdullah.
The discount voucher can be redeemed without any formal application at an authorised dealer or service centre of participating brands. These include Proton, Perodua, Nissan, Toyota Motor, Honda, Mitsubishi, Volvo, Renault, Mercedes-Benz BMW, Ford, Hyundai, Mazda, Peugeot, Kia, Subaru, and Volkswagen.
The deadline for claiming this Automotive Discount Voucher is March 31, 2022.
