Porsche Malaysia witnesses the arrival of Porsche Boxster GTS & Porsche Cayman GTS
KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Auto Performance Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Porsche in Malaysia have officially announced the arrival of two new members to their extended family, The Porsche Boxster GTS and Porsche Cayman GTS.
Porsche Center Sungai Besi, one of the two areas from where Porsche Malaysia operates, witnessed the the arrival of the duo, where both the mean machines looked very much alive and kicking. These machines have increased power and performance ,because of the three letter GTS badge, that was adopted first in 1963 with the 904GTS.
Both the vehicles feature the same 3.4 liter flat-six engine,though giving different performance. Porsche Boxster GTS churns out a maximum power of 330hp at 6700rpm with a peak torque of 370Nm at 4500-5800rpm. And the Porsche Cayman GTS is endowed with 340hp power at 7,400rpm, alongwith 380Nm of torque at 7,400rpm.
When mated with the 7-speed PDK dual clutch gearbox and with Sport Plus mode selected ,the Porche Boxster accelerates to 100kmph from standstill in 4.7 seconds with a top speed of 281kmph,while the Porsche Cayman GTS takes 4.9 seconds to do the same,achieving the top seed of 2885kmp.
Talking of the exterior, both GTS have received front facial makeover, with the lip extensions, which are black, the side air intakes have also been redesigned and the slim LED DRLs complete the sleek look. Adding to its intense looks are the bi-xenon headlights powered by Porsche's Dynamic Light System and 20-inch black finished alloy wheels,covered in 235/35 tyres at the front and 265/35 at the rear. Moving towards the rear end, both the cars have smoked taillights, in addition to the black -finished exhaust pipe.
As for the interiors, both these sporty mean machines are covered in black leather along with the Black Alcantara which can be felt at the arm rest, steering wheel, center console, A-pillar and even on the roof linings.
The Porsche Boxter GTS and the Porsche cayman GTS are available at base prices of RM660,000 and RM700,000 respectively. These base prices do not cover insurance and road tax. But surely, the customers will be relieved to know that both the models come with a 4-year warranty and service package.
