Porsche Cayenne Coupe Turbo GT variant officially unveiled
KUALA LUMPUR: Porsche has unveiled the Cayenne Coupe range-topping model, the Cayenne Turbo GT. It is the same car that registered a record-breaking lap time of seven-minute, 38.925 seconds at the Nurburgring Nordschleife recently with factory driver Lars Kern behind the wheels.

So, what does the new Porsche Cayenne Coupe performance variant have on offer? Let’s find out -
Porsche Cayenne Coupe Turbo GT powertrain
The Cayenne Turbo GT is powered by a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine that makes a maximum power of 640 PS along with a peak torque of 850 Nm. The power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.
It is to be noted that this mill is the most potent eight-cylinder engine from Porsche ever, and in doing so the automaker has given the unit several upgrades. For instance, it features upgraded turbocharges, crankshaft drive, induction & intercooler systems, and direct fuel injection.
Furthermore, it gets specifically designed crankshaft, pistons, connecting roads, timing chain drive, and torsional vibration dampers, all working towards improving its driving dynamics.
Other performance improving features include -
- 17-inch lower ride height compared to the Cayenne Turbo Coupe
- Revised passive chassis components and active control systems
- 15 percent more rigid three-chamber air suspension setup
- Power Steering Plus
- Rear-axle steering
- Revised damping characteristics of the PASM adaptive suspension
- Revised front axle
- Performance-oriented PDCC active roll control system
- Better roll stability and road holding
- More precise turn-in behaviour at high cornering speed
- Higher torque bias ratios via Porsche Torque Vectoring
Porsche Cayenne Coupe Turbo GT exterior
The range-topping Porsche Cayenne Coupe is sure a treat to the eyes, but its exterior is packed with elements that contribute to its performance. For example, the one-inch wider front wheels’ negative camber is enhanced by 0.22 degrees, offering a larger contact patch via the 22-inch Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres.
Other exterior functional bits include -
- GT-specific front apron with spoiler lip & side cooling intakes
- Contoured carbon-fibre roof

- 25 mm longer adaptive rear spoiler
