Porsche Asia Pacific gets its new CEO, Hannes Ruoff

KUALA LUMPUR: Apart from revamping its lineup, it is important for automakers to shuffle their management as it allows the influx of new ideas and better managerial skills. Porsche recently appointed its new Chief Executive Officer for the Asia Pacific region.

    The person appointed for the position is Hannes Ruoff and he’ll be taking up the charge from 1st October 2022. He succeeds Arthur Willmann at the office which was under his charge since 2018 and now will be taking up a new role in Porsche sales.

    Under Willmann’s leadership, the sports car manufacturer expanded its involvement in the region via the construction of the first cross-border high-performance charging network in collaboration with Shell and the setting up of a local assembly facility in Malaysia (used for Cayenne models production).

    As for Ruoff, he was earlier posted with Porsche AG and also held the position of Area Manager Asia Pacific and Australia in the Overseas and Emerging Markets sales region.

    Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG on the new appointment said, “We see many dynamic markets with growth and innovation potential in Southeast Asia, in which we want to become more involved as we recently underscored with the opening of a local assembly facility in Malaysia.”

    • 2009: Hannes Ruoff started his career in Porsche as Training Manager for Sales & Marketing
    • 2015: He became Regional Marketing Manager at Porsche AG headquarters
    • 2020: Acquired the position of Area Manager for the Asia Pacific and Australia
