KUALA LUMPUR: Porsche introduced an exclusive “911 Turbo 50 Years” model at the recently concluded Monterey Car Week 2024. As the title suggests, the latest Porsche car celebrates the five decades of the iconic 911 Turbo, first introduced in 1974.

    The limited-edition model is sprayed with 'Turbonite Grey,’ a brown grey colour scheme exclusive to the 911 Turbo models. The automaker also used the same paint on inlays in the rear engine cover, fuel tank cap, and Porsche crest and as a contrasting shade in the Turbo 50 model logo.

    Further emphasising the car’s classic look are anthracite Grey accents available on the rear wing blade, rear apron, mirror base, and air intake trims. It also includes side vinyl graphics paying homage to the historic livery of the 1973 Porsche 911 RSR Turbo.

    The rear badge of the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years model features a turbocharger icon alongside the years 1974–2024. Upon opening the door, a special LED door projector displays an image of a turbocharger on the ground for a unique touch of flair. The car also comes with 911 Turbo S Exclusive Design wheels in Turbonite as standard.

    Interior

    Inside the new Porsche 911 Turbo, we can find an amazing combination of classic and modern elements. The centre panels of the seat cover and interior door panels are decked with McKenzie tartan, a design element used in the early Porsche 911 Turbo models. The car also boasts Turbonite accents on seat belts, controls, and decorative stitching.

    Further confirming its unique identity is a prominent Porsche crest on the GT sports steering wheel and Turbo 50 logos on the door kick plates and headrests of Adaptive Sports Seats Plus. There is also an anniversary Plaque positioned above the glove compartment, featuring the Turbo 50 logo and limited-edition number.

    Heritage Design Package (Optional)

    Porsche also offers an optional Heritage Design Package with the limited 911 Turbo 50 Years, which includes -

    • Aventurine Green Metallic base colour
    • Historic decorative graphics, including a lollipop with car numbers, Turbo 50 logo, and Porsche logo in White satin finish
    • Classic Porsche crest on the front bonnet Sport Classic wheels in Brilliant Silver and White satin finish
    • Gold Turbo 50 and Porsche badge on the rear
    • Tartan design elements on dashboard trim, glove box, and seat backrest inlays
    • Historic crest on the steering wheel with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur logo on the centre console storage compartment.
    • Green dials on the instrument cluster and Sport Chrono clock finished in green

    Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years

    Engine and performance

    In terms of mechanicals, the 50th Anniversary 911 Turbo features the same 3.7-litre twin-turbo flat-six engine as the donor model. It churns out a maximum power of 641 PS and a peak torque of 800 Nm. 

    Power is sent to the wheels by the 8-speed dual-clutch transmission mated to the active all-wheel-drive Porsche Traction Management and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus. The car runs from zero to 100 kmph in 2.7 seconds and attains a top speed of 205 mph.

    Availability and price

    The production of the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years will be limited to just 1,974 units, each carrying a price tag of GBP 200,600 (approximately equal to RM 1,152,513).
