Pininfarina K350 Electric Concept revealed at the 2018 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition
KUALA LUMPUR: It looks like the ongoing Beijing International Automotive Exhibition is purely EVs centric as most of the automakers have something new in this segment. Amidst a number of electric vehicles, Pininfarina has also revealed its K350 Electric concept. The K350 shares the stage with HK GT Gran Turismo and the H500 saloon, which was revealed a few days back at the Geneva Auto Show.
According to the manufacturer, the K350 concept is equipped with the technology developed by HK. The electric motors, traction system with battery, control unit and a range extender all are developed by HK for the concept. The K350 is a compact SUV that features a mature yet athletic design. At the front, it gets the signature HK grille with vertical slats, slim headlights and lower fascia similar to the H500 sedan.
The roofline smoothly flows towards the rear doorway while the taillights stretch from one end to the other.
The cabin layout is distinct as the K350 features front seats connected to the center console. The front seats are also connected to the rear seats and even the rear passengers get their own center console which runs end-to-end.
Under the hood, the Pininfarina K350 is equipped with a 300 kW battery unit that has the potential to push the car up to 1000 km. Along with a competitive range, the SUV is agile enough to clock the 100 kmph mark from naught in just 4.7 seconds. It can also achieve a top speed of 250 kmph. The manufacturer has not revealed the exact timeline by when we can expect the production model but, it is expected to see the light by 2020.
