Perodua to collaborate with PERKESO to push road safety
KUALA LUMPUR: Perodua, the Malaysia born automaker is in plans to push the road safety agenda beyond the Raya season. To do so, the automaker has joined hands with PERKESO, a social security organisation. And together they presented the national ‘Safe Driving to Workplace’ campaign.
The said Perodua-PERKESO campaign aims to minimise the road accidents incidents involving automaker’s 8500 staff members. Present at the launch of this noble cause was Y B M Kula Segaran, Human Resource Minister along with Chief Executive Officer YBhg Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad, Chief Secretary of Human Resources Ministry YBhg Dato’ Amir Omar, PERKESO Chief Executive YBhg Dato’ Sri Dr Mohammed Azman Dato’ Aziz Mohammed, and Chief Secretary to the Human Resources Ministry YBhg Dato’ Amir Omar.
Chief Executive Officer YBhg Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad said, “Perodua has executed many initiatives under our long-term Road Safety Programme. After carrying out many staff-wide awareness activities to great effect, we are now ready to progress to the Kiken Yochi stage, where we teach our staff to anticipate potential hazards.”
In addition, PERKESO also delivered a talk entitled ‘Vision Zero’ to Perodya staff (around 150) and trainers. It covered topics, such as the importance of checking the condition of one’s vehicle regularly, Kiken Yochi, and careful driving.
Besides a talk on safety awareness and road rules was given by Dr. Bakri Zainal Abidin, Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Chief Assistant Director Supt.
