Perodua EM-O EV Concept breaks cover at Malaysia Auto Show

KUALA LUMPUR: At the Malaysia Auto Show 2023, Perodua has unveiled the first official glimpse of its future B-Segment EV hatchback in the form of the Electric Motion Online (EM-O) concept. The car on display is not a full-sized model, but rather a 1:6 scale clay iteration of the upcoming EV.

The concept vehicle showcases an interesting design with an angular front end featuring a funky grille. The five-door hatchback also boasts short overhangs and a continuous tail light pattern. 

On the Perodua booth, you can find a game simulator placed alongside the EM-O model, which tells the following details about it - 

• The car measures 3,895 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width, and 1,515 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. These dimensions are identical to the Perodua Myvi
• The electric motor of the concept vehicle is capable of generating 95 PS of maximum power and 121 Nm of peak torque
• The performance figures of the Perodua EV hatchback include a century sprint of 10 seconds and a top speed of a 160 kmph
• The motor will be mated to a 50-kWh lithium-ion battery pack delivering a range of between 300 km - 350 km
• As for charging, it will support DC charging of up to 300 kW offering 80% SoC in just 20 minutes. The standard charging will take 7 hours 30 minutes for 100% SoC
