Perodua Aruz variant, engine, & color details out

KUALA LUMPUR: Who would have expected the Perodua SUV to make so much of waves this soon? It all began with the leak of a leaflet and now you can even book a Perodua Aruz for yourself. With the leaflet, we came to know what the Perodua SUV will be called, then came the prices, and now the bookings are open too. However, the leaked leaflet told a lot more than just the name of the Perodua SUV. It carried details like Aruz variants and color options which will be offered by the manufacturer. Let’s find out what the Aruz will have on offer.

Perodua Aruz features -

The Aruz will be boasting features like 17-inch alloy wheels, second-row air-conditioning vents, LED headlamps, keyless entry and start, built-in Touch n Go reader, charging ports in all rows, reverse camera, and six airbags. The best part is that all these features will come as standard on both the X and AV variants of the Aruz.

Perodua Aruz variants -

Being the higher variant, the Aruz AV will also get leather upholstery, roof rails, leather-wrapped steering wheel with telephony controls, HDMI input, and a digital video recorder. The AV variant will also get the safety package called the Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) by Perodua in its version 2.0.

Perodua Aruz engine configuration -

Under the hood of both the X and AV models, there will be a 1.5-litre motor mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission unit. Although we do not have much information on the powertrain yet, it is expected to be the 2NR Dual VVT-i mill which produces 103 PS and 136 Nm of peak torque. This particular is engine is the same unit which is used on the Rush and the Myvi.

We all know that the Aruz is an SUV based on the Toyota Rush, however, there are a few elements which are unique to the Perodua SUV. The front fascia, in particular, is quite distinct and features a redesigned grille and LED daytime running lights. The rear end, however, looks more or less the same. The leaked leaflet also tells that the Aruz will be offered in 5 different finish options namely Amazon Green, Granite Grey, Electric Blue, Glittering Silver and Ivory White. Perodua will also start accepting bookings for the Aruz SUV very soon.
