Perodua announces Bezza’s maintenance cost; RM 3,095.38 for 5 years

KUALA LUMPUR: Perodua has released the pricing details of Bezza’s scheduled maintenance. Malaysia’s largest car manufacturer has listed the service charges of the sedan for the first five years. The released service manual specifies the five year’s service cost, which is RM 3,095.38.

The basic service cost of the 1.3L variant follows a pattern of increment and decrement. The servicing for the second year is the most expensive with RM 796.57 and for the first year, it is cheapest at RM 391.02.

An article in the news last week showed a comparison of the maintenance prices of Perodua Bezza and Proton Persona and depicted that the Perodua car is around 32 percent costlier to maintain than the Persona. However, a Persona owner would be paying RM 239.55 more than a Bezza owner for three years of service.

Apart from this, the estimation was based on the comparison of preventative maintenance costs of the Perodua Bezza to that of the Proton Persona. Perodua stated that there is a fallacy in cost difference as there are different methods employed to calculate service charges. Perodua also says that the actual cost of Perodua’s five-year servicing is just RM 44 (or 1.4%) higher. The Bezza requires iridium spark plugs and 0W-20 full-synthetic oil, which increases the cost by a fair amount.

Moreover, the Bezza has high fuel efficiency in comparison to its competitors, and this adds to the savings. The 1.0-litre variant delivers a mileage of 22.8 kmpl and 21.3 kmpl for manual and automatic transmission, respectively. On the other hand, the 1.3-litre version delivers 21.7 kmpl with manual transmission and 21.0 kmpl with automatic transmission. Whereas, the high-end model is efficient enough to deliver a mileage of 22 kmpl.
