Over-the-air update for all Kia models in Europe

KUALA LUMPUR: Kia has announced new over-the-air (OTA) functionality for all its models sold in Europe. Thus, allowing owners to benefit from the latest infotainment features quickly and easily.

Kia’s latest OTA: Key highlights

• The latest OTA functionality is available for all Kia models that are equipped with Kia Connect (from MT22)
• Satellite navigation unit can now receive map and related software updates wirelessly
• The update will offer the latest European and UK maps
• The system will offer interface improvements along with several bug fixes

• Customers would no longer require to manually download updates from the official Kia Navigation Updates portal
• There would be no need to visit the Kia dealership for a technician to install updates
• The update will offer a range of specific enhancements including the rollout of the “Eco” menu to all Kia EVs along with improved 3D map visualization and improved voice recognition

The Kia OTA update campaign is due to finish at the end of this month. Owners of the Kia vehicles of MY22 or 23 with Kia Connect are enabled to get OTA updates retrospectively by installing the Kia Navigation Updates website's latest software version.

Once the OTA updates are activated, the car owners will receive a notification when an update is available via a pop-up message on the infotainment system. After the download and installation process is complete, a QR code will be displayed showing the changes.
