Edaran Tan Chong Motor will preview several models at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024, including the Serena J Impul, the Almera Kuro Edition, a rugged Navara, and another model that is likely the Kicks e-Power.What powers the Nissan Kicks e-Power?
The Kicks e-Power is equipped with second-generation e-POWER technology, which comprises a 1.2-litre DOHC 3-cylinder engine and an electric motor.Although the automaker has not revealed any details about the upcoming cars, the teaser showcases the Serena J Impul, the Almera Kuro Edition, a rugged version of the Navara, and another model that seems to be the highly anticipated Kicks e-Power.
The Serena MPV shown in the teaser is not the latest C28 generation that debuted in late 2022; instead, it appears to be the J Impul variant of the current C27 generation. Introduced in July 2023, the Impul treatment enhances the MPV's visual appeal with a J made-in-Japan aero kit, chrome-plated garnishes, 18-inch Impul Millennium alloy wheels, and Goodyear Eagle F1 Sport tires. Inside, it boasts distinctive upholstery with rock garden-inspired patterns and Impul logo embroideries on the seats.
The Nissan Almera featured in the teaser is not the facelifted model that debuted in Thailand last year. Instead, it is the one with the "Kuro Package," which includes a series of gloss black elements such as the TOMEI aero kit and TOMEI GT wing.
As for the Nissan Navara, the teased model appears to be a beefed-up version of the pickup truck. Last year, the automaker introduced the exciting Black Edition, aimed at enhancing its visual appeal with styling accessories inspired by the top-spec PRO-4X variant.
Coming to the Nissan Kicks e-Power, ETCM first teased this electrified SUV in its Chinese New Year greeting video in 2022. It comes equipped with the second-gen e-POWER technology comprising a 1.2-litre DOHC 12-valve 3-cylinder engine and an electric motor. The setup combinedly churns out a maximum power of 129 PS and a peak torque of 280 Nm. The Nissan Kicks e-Power rivals the likes of the Honda HR-V e:HEV RS and the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid.
Notably, this is also not the second-gen Kicks that made its world premiere at the 2024 New York International Auto Show.
