Nissan NV350 Urvan: Features explained
The Nissan NV350 Urvan is a big, practical vehicle that offers excellent performance, calming comfort, and brings exuberant character to the table. Referred as the people’s carrier, the NV350 Urvan is spectacular at doing its job. With a seating capacity of 14 and plenty of storage space on offer, it makes an ideal fit for your commercial transfers and private outings.
Nissan offers the practical MUV in just one colour shade, and that is Brilliant White. The NV 350 Urvan resembles a minivan from the outside due to its stretched dimensions. Though not hype as far as stying is concerned but indeed a rockstar when it comes to utility and function.
A facelift version of the NV350 Urvan was introduced earlier this year that includes a new V-motion signature front grille, reworked headlights and front bumper with a subtle change. Inside the cabin, a new steering wheel has been included for a modern look. The mechanical department remains the same as before.
Let’s take a look at the big and modern NV350 Urvan specs in the upcoming sections for better understanding.
Outside
Let’s start from the outside. As said, it is a bulky-looking vehicle, almost like a minivan, with decent styling and purpose. Talking about the front, there is a trapezoidal radiator grille garnished in chrome, halogen headlamps, and body-coloured bumper. The NV350 Urvan does not get front fog lamps on any of the two available variants. On the side, the NV350 Urvan gets 15-inch steel wheels and black-coloured manually adjustable side mirrors.
Inside
The cabin of the NV350 Urvan is ergonomically designed while taking care of the comfort of the driver as well as passengers. The seats get adequate cushion with fabric upholstery. There is a single DIN audio system with two speakers, AM/FM support and CD player compatibility, a multi-information system, a manual air conditioning system with a rear cooler, a Urethane steering wheel and power windows. For added convenience, Nissan has blessed the Urvan with central locking system and rear wiper system.
Convenience
The stretched Urvan with 2,940 mm of wheelbase comforts each occupant to the core. There is enough legroom for the passengers to be at ease regardless of the position they opt to sit. The presence of rear cooler makes the journey enjoyable for the rear occupants while the cooler box at the lower side of the centre console ensures that the drinks remain cool. The cooler box can store two 500-ml bottles.
Safety
Nissan has taken care of this aspect with attention. The NV350 Urvan gets a zone body construction that makes it rigid and strong. Further, it comes with a complete list of safety and security features that makes sure emergency situations are overcome with ease. The set of features include anti-lock braking system (ABS), brake assist (BA), rear fog lamp, manual headlamp leveller, child safety lock, child protector safety lock, reverse sensors, engine immobiliser, fuel cap with lock and 100 kmph speed limiter. For added security, the NV350 Urvan gets a remote control alarm system.
Performance
One of the vital features of the Urvan is its performance that’s extracted from the 4-cylinder, in-line DOHC 2,488cc diesel engine with Variable Geometry System (VGS) turbo intercooler. The engine churns out 129 PS and 356 Nm of power and torque respectively. Despite heavy loads, the setup generates good acceleration, which is one of the main reasons why customers are inclined to buying it. The engine comes coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission system that’s not only smooth and responsive but helps in delivering a healthy fuel economy of 11.4 kmpl.
