Nissan Gears Up With its Titan Warrior Concept
Kuala Lumpur: Nissan recently unveiled its Titan Warrior Concept at the Detroit Auto Show. Crafted by Nissan Design America, this concept is based on the 2016 Titan XD pickup truck. Moreover, it shares the same platform and diesel engine with Titan XD along with a number of additional off-road features and modifications. This also looks like a direct rival to the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor. Once this concept is ready for the market, it would have to face tough competition from many other prominent pickups which includes Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Nissan Navara and Mitsubishi Triton.
Towards the exterior, it gets new oversized skid plates, reworked grille and headlamps, wider arches and new quad exhaust pipes. The height of this truck is raised by 3-inch in order to fit its huge 18-inch wheels while the width has been increased by 6-inch to add up the long-travel suspension. A lot of carbon fibre has been used throughout its body including the flares along with front and rear bumpers. A matte gunmetal paintwork is used on its exterior along with orange and black accents. This black and orange combination have been carried over to its interior as well. Its carbon-coloured seats are further adorned with contrast orange stitching. Apart from that, a lot of carbon fiber and polished chrome is used throughout the cabin.
Under the hood, it is powered by a Cummins-sourced 5.0-litre V8 turbodiesel engine which churns out a maximum power of 308 hp along with a peak torque of 750 Nm. Further, it is mated with a six-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all the four wheels. Moreover, it would also be getting a brand new suspension along with some other technical enhancements.
Apart from this monster, other Nissan concept which should reach the production stage is Nissan Gripz Concept which was showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015.
