Next-gen Ford Everest launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The official distributor of Ford cars in Malaysia, Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC) has finally unveiled the next-gen Everest. The automaker’s latest SUV is the perfect mix of exceptional comfort, off-road capabilities, and customer-focused tech.

With amazing capability at its core, a quiet and refined sanctuary on the inside, class-leading technologies and safety standards, we believe the next-generation Everest will widen its appeal in the market.”

Next-gen Everest is the ideal companion to help them master every milestone while striking a perfect balance in life.”

    Ford Malaysia is offering the new Everest with two engine options, depending on the variant. For instance, the Trend and Titanium models are powered by a 2.0-litre Bi-turbo engine making 210 PS at 3,500 rpm and 500 Nm at 1,750 to 2,000 rpm. The drive is sent to the wheels via a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission.

    As for the base Sport trim, it gets the 2.0-litre Single Turbo diesel unit offering a maximum power output of 170 PS @ 3,500 rpm and a peak torque of 405 Nm at 1,750-2,000 rpm.

    The next-gen Everest is loaded with high-tech features both on the outside and inside. Here is a glimpse of what is on offer -

    • Latest SYNC® 4A infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ connectivity and eight speakers
    • 360-degree camera with split-view display
    • Reverse cameras in addition to front and rear sensors
    • 8-inch or 12-inch digital instrument panels
    • Traditional analogue clusters
    • Four USB charging ports (one of which is windscreen-mounted)
    • Wireless Qi charger

    When it comes to safety, Ford has equipped the next-gen Everest with several new and enhanced driver-assist technologies. Part of the SUV’s safety kit is -

    The top-spec Titanium variant benefits from a range of advanced driver assistance systems including, lane departure warning & assist, blind spot information system, tyre pressure monitoring system, and high beam assist. In addition, it also comes equipped with Adaptive cruise control with stop and goes and lane centring, Active Park Assist 2.0, Evasive steer assist, Reverse brake assist, Rear cross-traffic alert, and Autonomous emergency braking.
