New Toyota C-HR Hybrid details revealed for Thai market

KUALA LUMPUR: We now know what the new Toyota C-HR Hybrid GR Sport has on offer. Though the information is limited for the Thai market, it gives us a good perspective.

Toyota Thailand is offering the CH-R for 1,189,000 bath (approx. RM 149,255)

Toyota CH-R Hybrid engine

The CH-R is offered in one single powertrain choice, a hybrid unit that combines a 72 PS/142Nm 1.8-litre powertrain and an electric motor. Together they offer a total system output of 122 PS along with responsive performance and high fuel efficiency of 24.4 kmpl.

The power is sent to the wheels via E-CVT automatic transmission with Shift Lock.

Further promising the perfect driving performance is the CH-R’s newly turned suspension with coil spring and Choc Absorber. The setup ensures excellent road grip and better balance at the corners.

The European-spec CH-R Hybrid GR Sport, on the other hand, along with the 122 hp 1.8-litre mill gets a 184 hp 2.0-litre Hybrid Dynamic Force powertrain.

As for the Japan-spec model, it gets a petrol-powered 1.2-litre four-cylinder turbo mill.

The CH-R GR Sport Hybrid version showcases several visual cues that help one differentiate from the standard model. Part of the GR Sport body kit is - a front bumper extension, side skirts, LED fog lamps, rear bumper trim, GR Sport badging at the front and rear. The sporty car rides on newly designed 18-inch alloys.

The CH-R Hybrid GR Sport interior like the exterior features a sporty and power-packed fascia. It comes with specially-designed seats with grey stitching and GR branding, perforated-leather steering, and engine starter button, both with GR badge.

The Thai-spec CH-R benefits from the Toyota Safety Sense suite of advanced driver assistance features including lane departure alert with steering assist, dynamic radar cruise control with lane tracing assist, automatic high beam, and autonomous emergency braking.
