New Toyota bZ3 sedan introduced; check details

KUALA LUMPUR: Toyota has unveiled the all-new Toyota bZ3 sedan, thus making it the second electric car in its range after the bZ4x.

Toyota bZ3 sedan: Key details

• The new bZ3 has been developed in collaboration with BYD and FAW Toyota
• It offers a maximum cruising range of more than 600 km
• Its electrification system includes a lithium-ion LFP battery with lithium iron phosphate from BYD along with extensive electrification tech from Toyota

• Newly designed battery structure, safety monitoring system, control, and cooling functions
• Reduced battery degradation with a goal to ensure 90 percent even after ten years
• It is built on the automaker’s e-TNGA vehicle platform that offers pleasant driving, and responsive performance along with excellent handling stability and a low centre of gravity

• Compared to Corolla Altis, the bZ3 is quite big; it measures 4,725 mm in length, 1,835 mm in width, and 1,475 mm in height. The 2,880 mm wheelbase offers quite a spacious cabin
• The cabin features a large vertical centre display with a tray-type console called a ‘Digital Island'
• Built on the ‘Family Lounge’ concept the EV offers ample space for family and friends to enjoy
• The driving console is designed in a way to minimise muscle strain and fatigue

The Toyota bZ3 is limited to the Chinese market and is second in line with many more bZ models. As for Malaysia, UMW Toyota is yet to introduce an EV, however, the automaker is busy setting new EV charging stations.
