New hues for 2022 Chevy Corvette palette

KUALA LUMPUR: It was only a while back when Chevy introduced two new exterior colour options for the mid-engine C8 Corvette - Red Mist and Silver Flare. The automaker also made the car expensive by $1000 (around RM 4,130). What else is the automaker up to? Will, it has introduced new hues for one of its other popular models - the 2022 Corvette.

Currently, in its third model year, Chevy has introduced the Corvette in three new exterior tones including Hypersonic Grey, Caffeine, and the premium Amplify Orange (costs extra).

It is not the first time Chevy has introduced upgrades in the Corvette lineup. As earlier the company introduced some revisions in the 2021 model. For instance -

• Standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support
• New display options for the digital gauge
• Tachometer in Track mode
• Magnetorheological dampers (available as a stand-alone option)

Brushing your memory a bit, the 8th generation Chevy Corvette is powered by a 6.2-litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine making a maximum power of 490 hp and a peak torque of
637 Nm. The power is sent to the rear-wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

On the performance front, it covers 0 to 97 kmph sprint in just 2.8 seconds and can attain a top speed of almost 296 kmph.
