The year saw the successful launch of four new models: WR-V, new City, new Civic Type R, and all-new CR-V.

The 2024 Honda CR-V is offered in four variants in Malaysia - S, E, V, and RS, priced between RM 159,900 and RM 195,900.In a recent media briefing, the automaker shared an update on the booking numbers for the new Honda CR-V. Launched almost two months ago, it has already garnered a significant amount of attention, with a total of 6,500 bookings as of Feb 22, 2024. Impressively, 1,500 customers have already taken delivery of their SUVs, demonstrating the strong demand for this model.

The non-hybrid versions of the SUV feature a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine generating up to 193 PS at 5,600 rpm and a maximum torque of 243 Nm at 2,000 – 5,000 rpm. Power is transmitted to the wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT), with front-wheel drive in the S and E variants and all-wheel drive in the V AWD model.
The CR-V lineup includes a hybrid variant for the first time, which comes equipped with the Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) mild-hybrid system. This system consists of a 2.0-litre NA Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine serving as a generator and an e-motor, delivering a combined output of 184 PS and 335 Nm. The hybrid powertrain is paired with an e-CVT gearbox.
Apart from the new hybrid mill, the sixth-gen Honda CR-V also offers the upgraded Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver-assist systems to the customers. The pack now offers a total of nine safety systems with the addition of the Adaptive Driving Beam.
For the sixth-gen model, Honda has also replaced the 8-speaker audio system with a new 12-speaker Bose audio system, which incorporates advanced components ensuring a crisp and balanced sound across all frequencies.
The new CR-V also features the Honda Connect telematics suite, offering car owners a variety of functions via a dedicated mobile app compatible with both Apple and Android devices. Also part of the upgraded kit is a new 360-degree camera, which is a step up from the usual multi-view reverse camera.
Honda Malaysia offers the SUV in five colour options, including Canyon River Blue Metallic, Ignite Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, and Crystal Black Pearl. Among these, the newly-added Canyon River Blue Metallic emerges as the top choice, capturing the hearts of 36% of consumers.
