New-gen VW Vento: Official sketches are out
KUALA LUMPUR: The German auto marquee has teased the new-gen Vento in Russia in the form of sketches. Currently, we have fifth-gen Polo-based Vento in our country, while the sixth-gen Polo-based sedan is already available in Brazil, called as the Virtus. The all-new sixth-gen Polo is based on the brand’s MQB A0 platform.
The sketches of the VW Vento clearly depicts that the exterior design is set to change and we longer be getting a compact sedan with looks similar to the sixth-gen Polo. While the Brazil-spec Virtus shares its front with sixth-gen Polo, the Russia-spec Polo-based sedan does not. The Russia-spec sedan is more premium. Its front end looks inspired by the latest-gen Jetta and the rear end is decked up with a chunky-looking bumper and faux dual exhaust tips.
Based on the sketches, we can say that the front of the next-gen Vento will be a lot more aggressive than what we have seen in the past. The three chrome slats at the front look gorgeous, with the centre slat appearing to enter the headlamps in the form of DRL. The wheels look to embrace a sharper design. The height of the sedan appears to have shortened a bit, well the exact measurements will come at a later stage.
From the inside, the Vento will be all-new, with new steering wheel, central layout of AC vents, VW digital instrument cluster and updated climate control panel. The air vents on either end of the dashboard are also new. The highlighting aspect of the dash is the floating touchscreen positioned in the centre. It is likely to measure 8 inches. Until now, VW has housed the touch panel inside the dash, but not anymore.
No word about its launch in this part of the region is out yet. We are eagerly looking to gather information. Stay tuned with us for more related stories.
