All-electric Citroen model teased
KUALA LUMPUR: Citroen has put out a teaser video of its all-new fully-electric vehicle on its social media accounts. The video reveals very little about the upcoming vehicle, including its completely disguised front fascia which is likely to get a horizontal plate that connects the headlights. You can also spot an illuminated double chevron logo in the centre.
Additionally, you can see that the windscreen is quite upright, which hints that it might be a crossover. At the end of the video, you see the brand’s promise to "democratise electric mobility" along with the debut date, which is February 27, 2020. The video concludes by stating “for 100 years, Citroen has made automobiles accessible to all. In 2020, Citroen will make electric available to all.”
The company revealed Ami One concept last year, which is a two-seater ultra-compact vehicle billed as an electric mobility solution for urban regions, with performance figures like 100 km range and a top speed of 45 kmph. Not sure if this has any connection with the teaser released. We’ll have to wait and find what Citroen is up to.
While we wait for the official reveal to happen at the end of this month, the company has also confirmed that it will be replicating the Sahara desert journey started by its founder Andre Citroen in 1922. The production EVs from Citroen’s 2022 line-up will take part in the journey along with the replicas of the Silver Crescent and Golden Scarab vehicles used in the original journey.
The “Ë.PIC" journey is slated to happen between 19th Dec 2022 and 7th January 2023.
