Muhammad Fateh appointed as new president & CEO of MBM Resources Berhad

KUALA LUMPUR: MBM Resources Berhad (MBMR) is one of the leading automotive groups in Malaysia, which deals in the trading of several popular car brands, including Perodua, Volvo, Volkswagen, Daihatsu, and Hino. Along with this, the company is also involved in various automotive component manufacturing and tire assembly. The latest news around the automotive group is that it has recently appointed Muhammad Fateh Teh Abdullah, as its new president and chief executive officer (CEO) with effect from today (February 8).

En. Fateh, age 50, holds vast experience of 23 years in the automotive industry. His expertise areas are sales and marketing, distribution, strategic planning, and business development. Prior to joining MBMR, he was the head of the automotive distribution division of Hicom Holdings Bhd, the holding company of DRB Hicom. 

With a Bachelor Degree in Economics from the International Islamic University, En. Fateh started his career at the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers and moved on to join various automotive groups like UMW Holdings Group of Companies, Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd, and Hicom Holdings Bhd.

“With En. Fateh’s appointment as President & CEO of MBM Resources Berhad marks a  new chapter in our Group’s journey and vision of becoming a leading automotive group in  Malaysia,” commented Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid Salleh, Chairman of MBM Resources Berhad. 

“En. Fateh brings with him an abundance of experience in the automotive industry and we have confidence that he will be able to lift MBMR to greater heights. He will also be involved in the implementation of the key initiatives under our Transformation Programme.  We look forward to having him on board,” he further added.

With the appointment of En. Fateh, Annie Chin will cease to be the acting president and CEO of the group and will now be the company's chief financial officer.
