Mitsubishi’s new compact SUV debut confirmed for August 10

KUALA LUMPUR: Mitsubishi has teased a compact SUV model that is said to be the production version of the XFC concept unveiled last year in October. The debut of the mysterious SUV will be held at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show set to take place in Indonesia between from 10th to 20th August, 2023.

The teased shots reveal some of the key exterior elements of the upcoming Mitsubishi SUV such as the large grille, LED headlights, and the sculpted bonnet. These elements appear the same as we have seen in the XFC concept (pictured below).

As far as the interior things are concerned, one thing is sure the upcoming compact crossover will be getting a “Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium” audio system. This newly developed sound system from Yamaha will comprise Coaxial 2-way speakers and Yamaha tweeters for an “immersive sound experience”.

Other than that, it is likely to feature a twin-screen layout on the dashboard incorporating an advanced infotainment unit and a digital instrument panel.

No details are yet available on the mechanical aspects. However, as per the brand’s announcements made in the past, the SUV will come powered by a non-electrified internal combustion engine. This is because the model is destined for the ASEAN region where the hybrids and EVs are still in the nascent stages.

The as-yet-unnamed Mitsubishi SUV is one of the six vehicles the brand has planned to introduce by the end of 2023. Also, it is one of the sixteen debuts scheduled for the next five years.

More information about the new Mitsubishi compact SUV is expected to roll out closer to its debut, which is almost two months away.
