KUALA LUMPUR: After creating a sensation with the new Triton pickup in Thailand last week, Mitsubishi is now ready to take on the Indonesian market. The automaker has unveiled the design of the highly-anticipated “The New SUV” ahead of its scheduled debut on August 10 at the 30th Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show.

- The exterior underpins the Silky & Solid design concept with the upper part expressing an airy silkiness with a floating roof and a sleek surface and the lower part adopting the solid and powerful proportions of an SUV
- It features an evolved iteration of the Dynamic Shield face with a three-dimensional pattern, new bumpers, and new LED daytime running lights emitting an iconic T-shape
- The rear boasts a wide and stable look with a T-shaped graphic for the LED tail lights
- Against the measuring tape, it measures 4,390 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,660 mm in height
- The SUV runs on 18-inch wheels and has a top-class ground clearance of 222 mm
- Inside, the SUV will come equipped with “Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium” audio system
- Under the hood, the new Mitsubishi SUV will get a 1.5-litre engine paired with a CVT gearbox sending power to the front wheels

The upcoming SUV will be built at Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia plant with deliveries set to begin in November 2023.
