Mercedes introduces E-Class sedan and coupe in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia lineup introduced the sedan and the coupe body type of Mercedes-Benz E-Class cars. Precisely, the AMG-based E 53 Sedan and Coupe are considered to be masterpieces in intelligence in the company’s gallery and forms the perfect combination of performance, efficiency and sporty aesthetics.

Both the sedan and coupe of the Mercedes-AMG E 53 4MATIC+ are powered by a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine that can make a maximum power of 435 PS that comes at 6,100 RPM along with a peak torque of 520 Nm, coming between 1,800 to 5,800 RPM. With such power, the cars can get to 100 kmph from a standstill in just 4.5 seconds before hitting a top speed of 250 kmph.

 

The AMG E-Class cars offer a very optimised driving experience with optimum traction and a good level of safety boxes ticked. The driver can transfer from the rear-wheel drive mode to all-wheel drive without any hiccups, thanks to the intelligence controller that is a part of the architecture. The power is sent down to the wheels via an AMG SpeedShift 9-speed gearbox.

Aesthetically, there are some high-tech features all around. As for an example, the illumination up front is handled by MultiBeam LED lights, where each of them has 84 high-performance LEDs. The cars ride on 20-inch AMG wheels that are designed to be sporty.

The two cars are suspended over Affalterbach-developed AMG Ride Control+ air suspension that is highly tuned for cornering and better agility due to the traction. The ADS (Adaptive Damping System) offers a very dynamic and comfortable ride.

Mercedes has even added starter generator to the C53 Sedan and Coupe that works to enhance the driving dynamics. However, even while offering a wonderful performance, fuel efficiency is not compromised on, nor is the emission.

The Mercedes-AMG E 53 Sedan is priced at RM 740,000 while the E-Class Coupe form gets a tag of RM 764,000.
