Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 4MATIC Coupé debuts in Malaysia; est pricing announced

KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz has just launched a trio of new models - the 2024 Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift, and the 2024 Mercedes-Maybach GLS. Alongside these three glamorous and powerful models, the German automaker also gave us a preview of the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 4MATIC Coupé ahead of its imminent launch.

The Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 4MATIC is a luxurious two-door model that made its global debut last July. The bookings of the coupe are now open in Malaysia at an estimated price of RM 526,000 (on the road without insurance).

*update: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has officially set the price for the CLE 300 4Matic Coupé at RM518,888, on-the-road without insurance. This pricing is notably lower than initial estimates, making it an attractive offer for prospective buyers.

Let’s know the key highlights of the upcoming CLE 300 4MATIC Coupé - 

Dimensions 

The Mercedes-Benz CLE coupe, which succeeds both the C-Class Coupe and the E-Class Coupe, measures 4,850 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,428 mm in height, with a wheelbase spanning 2,865 mm.

Exterior

While the front design is reminiscent of the C-Class, the coupe confirms its unique identity with a hexagonal grille that has a single louvre in high-gloss black and DIGITAL LIGHT headlights. Notably, the CLE coupe is the first model by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia that is equipped with the DIGITAL LIGHT technology with projection function enriching the driving experience. The sloping roofline is also a standout feature, enhanced by eye-catching tail lights that boast sweeping graphics.

Additional features like a panoramic sunroof, Driving Assistance Package Plus, ambient lighting with brand logo projection, and Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus enhance both comfort and safety.

The optional AMG line Night package adds black design elements that amplify the car's expressive appearance. These include the exterior mirror housings, beltline trim strips, side window surrounds, tinted windows, and 19-inch AMG multi-spoke light alloy wheels.

Interior 

The key interior highlights of the Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 4MATIC are as follows - 

• The cabin features a striking 12.3-inch digital instrument display and an 11.9-inch central display in a user-friendly portrait format. It is powered by an advanced MBUX infotainment system with touchless operation 
• The central display seamlessly integrates into the front centre console with a sophisticated mixed fabric-look finish and metallic accents, positioned for optimal visibility and a modern, sporty feel

• Luxury touches include ARTICO man-made leather in a nappa look on the instrument panel and beltlines, a multifunction sports steering wheel in Nappa leather, and new front seats with integrated headrests and climatised functions 
• Also part of the kit is THERMATIC automatic climate control, new, EASY-ENTRY function, dynamic ambient lighting in 64 colours, immersive Burmester® 3D surround sound system mated to 17 speakers, KEYLESS-GO Comfort Package, HANDS-FREE ACCESS, Mirror Package, and head-up display 

Engine

Under the hood, the Mercedes-Benz CLE300 4MATIC comes equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol mill, which is tuned to deliver a maximum power of 258 PS and a peak torque of 400 Nm. It comes mated to a 48-volt EQ Boost mild-hybrid system offering an additional output of 23 PS and 205 Nm.

The power is sent to the wheels via a nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive system, allowing the vehicle to complete the century sprint in 6.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 250 kmph.

Safety

The CLE Coupé prioritises safety with features like Driving Assistance Package Plus, Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and Active Steering Assist. The Parking package includes Memory Parking Assist, Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC, a 360° camera, and GUARD 360° Vehicle protection, ensuring comprehensive safety coverage from all angles.
