Meet Trident's new spyder car, the 2024 Maserati GranCabrio

KUALA LUMPUR: Maserati has revealed a stylish open-top version of its award-winning GranTurismo, the all-new GranCabrio. Made entirely in Italy, the new Maserati convertible maintains the luxury, performance, and sportiness of its coupe counterpart while providing an open-air driving experience. 

The key highlights of the all-new Maserati GranCabrio are -

• The new GranCabrio is available in a sole Trofeo trim, powered by the brand’s new 3.0-litre twin-turbo Nettuno V6 engine that first appeared on the MC20
• Under the skin of the convertible car, the said mill delivers a maximum power of 542 hp and a peak torque of 650 Nm
• The power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission enabling the vehicle to hit the century sprint in 3.6 seconds

• The fabric roof of the car can be lowered and raised in 14 seconds, even while driving at speeds of up to 50 kmph
• The soft top is available in five colours and can be operated from the central display via a touch button
• The new Maserati GranCabrio comes with an innovative neck warmer to heat the driver's and passenger’s necks at three different levels of intensity, offering comfort to open-driving lovers

• In terms of design, the Spyder shares aesthetic elements with the GranTurismo, including identical vertical headlights, an oval grille with the Trident logo, and -shaped LED daytime running lights. It sits low to the ground and boasts a lengthy hood with three air vents
• The retractable fabric roof adds 100 kg to its weight compared to the coupe counterpart
• Equipment kit comprises a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8.8-inch climate-control display, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a head-up display, a digital round clock, and an 815-watt Sonus Faber sound system with 16-speakers

• The advanced driver-assistance pack includes - autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assist, and a 360-degree camera
• The drop-top GranCabrio also comes with an optional wind stopper, which reduces turbulence inside the car and improves the vehicle's aerodynamics for a smoother ride

The all-new 2024 Maserati GranCabrio is expected to go on sale in the European and US markets later this year.
