Meet the SARD GR 86 GT1 concept
KUALA LUMPUR: The image above shows the SARD GR 86 GT1 concept. As the name suggests, it is a modified Toyota GT86 by SARD. What does SARD represent? Well, it stands for Sigma Advanced Racing Development, a Japanese tuning company and race team that specialises in Toyotas.
Furthermore, SARD was the first to introduce a modified Toyota GT86, which was the automaker’s replacement for the simple and sombre GT 86 sports car.
Coming back to SARD’s latest creation, the GR 86 GT1 concept, though it gets some clear updates over the standard model, its technical details are still under wraps.
Design modifications -
When compared to the standard model, the SARD GR 86 GT1 concept showcases several obvious bodywork revisions. For instance, the car gets a whole new face that calls for a clean look. Also, the small wheel arch extension makes it look even more aggressive.
The side profile gets new BBS wheels and it appears as if the GR has been lowered too. At the back, it gets blacked-out tail lights, chunky new exhaust system, and a standout rear wing.
In the coming time, SARD will introduce all the parts and modifications used on the GT1 concept in the market, making things a bit more clear. As for the changes done to the standard GR 86’s naturally-aspirated flat-four 2.4-litre power plant, we can just imagine revisions in our head. It can be turbocharged or supercharged or even a completely new mill.
Let us know what you think will power the SARD GR 86 GT1 concept in the comments.
