Mazda MX-5 unveiled in Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur: After numerous spy shots and a lot of teasings, Mazda has finally revealed the third-generation MX-5 in Malaysia. Recently a local dealer created much hype by revealing the first look of the car on facebook. The Japanese automaker has launched this car in a single variant with a price tag of RM219,999 (on the road without insurance). This price also includes a three-year/100,000 km warranty and a three-year/60,000 km free service package.
Under the bonnet, this two-door roadster is powered by a 2.0-litre high-compression, direct-injected SkyActiv-G engine carrying four cylinders. This power mill generates a maximum power of 158 hp at 6000 rpm alongside 200 Nm of torque at 4600 rpm. Further, it is coupled with a six-speed SkyActiv-Drive automatic transmission along with paddle shifters (no option of a manual transmission for Malaysians). Moreover, it is also equipped with an i-stop auto start-stop system and i-ELOOP energy regeneration.
Talking about the exterior, the illumination is provided through adaptive LED headlights along with LED daytime running lights. It is crafted with 17-inch alloy wheels with tyres measuring 205/45/R17. Moving to the interior, one can notice the driver-oriented cabin equipped with many features. It is integrated with auto lights and wipers, cruise control, auto air-con, leather upholstery and commander control knob. Further, it boasts of a MZD Connect infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen along with nine-speaker Bose sound system with headrest speakers.
For your safety concern, automaker has integrated it with a four-airbag mechanism consisting of front and side airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and brake assist, dynamic stability control (DSC), high beam control (HBC) lane departure warning system (LDWS).
