Mazda CX-3 price list revealed, starting at RM131k

Kuala Lumpur: The most awaited moment among the Mazda CX-3 fans around the country has finally arrived. Mazda CX-3 crossover will be starting from RM131,218 on the road without insurance. Bermaz Motor Trading SDN.BHD has released the price list of the vehicle which was appeared on the Mazda CX-3 Club Malaysia's Facebook page. The crossover will be offered only in a single variant which will be a Completely Built Up unit (CBU) from Japan.

Mazda is all primed to offcially launch the vehicle across the showrooms in the country on December 8. The car was earlier showcased at 2015 NSI-MAI ASEAN Auto Show. There it was told that CX-3 will be featuring the exact same specifications as on the display vehicle and it will be available in Malaysia at prices between RM 130K to RM135K. Well, now the price list released has confirmed that the claims were true.

Apart from the pricing it was also claimed at the display that CX-3 will come with its standard equipment kit in Malaysia featuring the 18-inch alloy wheels in tyre size of 215/50 R18 and Mazda’s adaptive front lighting system (AFS) featuring LED automatic headlamps with LED daytime running lights. Besides that the standard kit also includes front and rear fog lamps, a power-folding side mirrors and sunroof along with dual exhaust tail pipe and automatic wipers.

Moving inside, the CX-3 is loaded with a plethora of Mazda features in the standard kit. The most notable being the all new MZD Connect system with a 7.0 inch LCD display offering all the vital informations in the central console augmenting the ergonomics of this Japanese vehicle. The seven-inch LCD display also holds the Commander Control which is coupled with the reverse camera.

The story is not over yet, as the standard kit also features a multiple function leather steering wheel with tilt and telescopic adjustable function. Coming in the CVT mode the car has paddle shifters beneath the steering and suede leather upholstered seats. Mazda CX-3 also offers Smart Keyless system with push button start, drive selection switch including the Sport mode and heads-up display (HUD).

Beneath the bonnet the Japanese automaker has played very intelligently loading the car with a 2.0 litre, SkyActiv-G petrol engine churning out a 146 hp and 192 Nm of torque. The SkyActiv-G engine is coupled with a SkyActiv-Drive six-speed automatic gearbox equally distributing the torque over the front wheels (FWD).

The Mazda CX-3 can be cruised around the city and on highways without being formidable of the safety. As the crossover is loaded with plenty of them. CX-3 has already proved itself in the Euro NCAP rating receiving 4 out of 5 stars. The car offers six airbags including the front, side and curtain with the standard Dynamic Stability Control (DSC). The braking mechanisms of the car features ceramic disk brakes coupled with traction control, ABS and EBD, hill launch assist and brake assist capable enough to put an instant halt to the speeding crossover.

Besides the standard kit Mazda also offers optional accessories that include an RM1,270 Mazda navigation system which is in a shape of an SD card and can be inserted into a designated slot.

Sources reported at the preview that Mazda Malaysia will only import 2,000 units of the CX-3 from Japan in the first batch. The company currently has no plans to import any units from the recently functional production plant in Thailand. However, the company is also considering other options to locally manufacture (CKD) the crossover but no plans have been announced yet.
