The Maserati MC20 Cielo price in Malaysia starts from RM 1,228,000 (before taxes, duties, and options). The Maserati MC20 Cielo comes equipped with a 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbocharged “Nettuno” engine, carbon fibre chassis, an electrochromic hardtop powered by PLDC tech, butterfly doors, High Premium Sonus Faber audio system, and active safety systems. If you are curious about the meaning of the car’s name, “MC” stands for Maserati Corse (Racing), “20” represents the year 2020 when the brand embraced a new era, and “Cielo” means sky in Spanish.
The drop-top Maserati MC20 runs on a 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbocharged “Nettuno” engine that delivers a whooping power of 630 hp at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 730 Nm between 3,000-5,500 rpm. The power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, enabling the spyder to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in approximately 3.0 seconds and to 200 kmph in 9.2 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 320 kmph.
Dimensionally, the Maserati MC20 measures 4669 mm in length, 2178 mm in width (with side mirrors), and 1218 in height and spans a wheelbase of 2700 mm. With a chassis made up of carbon fibre and composite materials, the car tips the scale at 1,540 kg (just 65 kg more than the coupe). The carbon fibre chassis offers torsional rigidity and outstanding handling on the road and track, says Maserati.
The MC20 Cielo comes equipped with an electrochromic hardtop powered by Advanced Polymer-Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) technology that instantly transforms it from clear to opaque at the touch of a button positioned on the central screen. The retractable glass roof of the car is quick as it takes only 12 seconds to open or close; it also comes with best-in-class thermal insulation, claims the automaker.
Another impressive feature of the convertible Maserati is its butterfly doors, which open in a spectacular way, just like wings unfolding upward. These doors not only add a touch of drama but also significantly improve entry and exit from the cabin.
The car is sprayed with a new three-layer metallic colour called Acquamarina. It is a blend of pastel grey and shiny aquamarine mica. This colour is part of the Maserati Fuoriserie customisation programme.
