Malaysia Autoshow 2024: Jaecoo brand launch, brings along J7, J8, & J6

KUALA LUMPUR: Jaecoo Malaysia is alluring onlookers at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 with its stunning lineup of cars. If you too wanna check out the thrilling front Jaecoo has put at the event, head towards A12 and 13 Hall A and experience the excitement of the premium off-road adventure.

First up is the Jaecoo J6. The SUV first made its debut at the Beijing Motor Show and has finally landed in Malaysia. Here are a few of its details.

Jaecoo J6

• The Jaecoo J6 measures 4,406 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,715 in height, and its wheelbase stretches to 2,715 mm.
  
  
• Its design language is inspired by that of JLR’s Defender, and it features elements like boomerang-shaped LED headlights, vertically aligned LED tail lights, and electric pop-out door handles.
  
  
• It is expected to borrow its powertrain configuration from the iCar 03 (a Chery’s sub-brand). The iCar 03 is offered in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations. The AWD trim makes 279 hp of power and enables the car to reach 100 kmph mark in 6.5 seconds. It gets a 69.8 kWh battery pack, which allows it to travel 501 km on a single charge.
  
  

• The cabin looks equally stylish and luxurious, and once again reminds us of the Defender.

• On the spec front, the J6 gets a digital instrument display and a large horizontal touchscreen infotainment head unit.

Jaecoo J7

• Another car to feature at the Jaecoo booth is the J7, which, like the J6 made its global debut at the Beijing Motor Show
• The Malaysian-spec J7 is a plug-in hybrid model, making it more environmentally friendly than the regular model
• The SUV looks very premium and sporty & comes equipped with LED headlights, LED taillights, sequential turn signal, flush door handles, and a set of 19-inch wheels

• Powering the J7 PHEV is a 1.5-litre TGDi petrol engine and a front-mounted single electric motor. Together the system makes 347 hp and 525 Nm
• Paired with a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), the SUV travels 88 km in pure electric mode
• Details about J7s charging are still under wraps. However, it is known to support DC fast charging and vehicle-to-load function
