Malaysia Autoshow 2024: Haval H6 HEV on display; order books now open
KUALA LUMPUR: One more Chinese player is set to enter the competitive SUV segment in Malaysia, called the Haval H6 HEV. Great Wall Motors has recently showcased this highly anticipated SUV at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 and has also opened its ordering books.

The Haval H6 HEV is a C-segment SUV rivalling the likes of the Proton X70, Honda CR-V, and Mazda CX-5 in Malaysia.Expected to hit the local roads in Q4 2024, the H6 is one of the best-selling Haval SUVs, available in more than 60+ countries. To date, 4 million units of the vehicle have been sold globally.
The Haval H6 is a C-segment hybrid SUV based on the company’s highly acclaimed global platform, LEMON. It is made of lightweight technology and promises “high performance and high safety.”
The upcoming Haval H6 is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine mated to an electric motor. The mill kicks out a maximum power of 147 hp and a peak torque of 285 Nm, while the electric motor is tuned to generate 177 hp. The combined system output is rated at 240 hp and 530 Nm of torque.
The power is sent to the front wheels via a seamlessly integrated seven-speed dual-clutch transmission aka Dedicated Hybrid Transmission. The SUV promises an impressive fuel consumption of 5.2 litres per 100 km.
The H6 rolls on 19-inch polished-black wheels shod with 225/55 series tyres. As for the suspension, it gets independent MacPherson struts at the front and multi-links at the rear.
Size-wise, the SUV is 4,683 mm long, 1,886 mm wide, and 1,724 mm tall and spans a 2,738-mm wheelbase. These dimensions put it in direct competition with the Proton X70, which measures 4,519 mm in length, 1,831 mm in width, and 1,694 mm in height. Its wheelbase is 2,670 mm.
In terms of looks, the Haval H6 HEV boasts a sleek and modern design with a huge chrome grille and advanced headlights mated to LED technology. Other key highlights include - LED front and rear fog lights, connecting LED tail lights, a panoramic sunroof, and an ‘HEV’ badge on the rear.
The cabin sports a luxury vibe with premium fit and finish, soft-touch materials, and cutting-edge technology. The Malaysian-spec model is likely to come kitted with the following goodies -
