Malaysia Auto Show 2023: Proton X50 R3 20th Anniversary Edition revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Autoshow 2023 has kicked off today with a range of exciting and latest models on display. The all-new Proton X50 R3 20th Anniversary Edition is one of them, which sets itself apart from the standard model with the help of striking cosmetic tweaks. 

Let’s dive into the details to know this special X50 better - 

• As a typical Proton R3 model, the SUV boasts yellow colour accents on the large front splitter, front hood, as well as the front grille 
• The side profile of the car also features yellow splashes on the door mirrors, side skirts, and 18-inch flow-formed lightweight wheels
• Towards the rear, we can observe the yellow accents on the rear diffuser

• Inside the cabin, the concept vehicle is kitted with R3 badges on the headrests, R3 mats, and R3 sports alloy pedals 
• Powering the 2023 Proton X50 R3 is the same 1.5-litre TGDI turbocharged engine found on the standard model. It generates a maximum power of 177 hp and a peak torque of 255 Nm
• The power is sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox 
• Proton is yet to announce the X50 R3 price and availability details, however, it is confirmed that the production will be limited to just 200 units
