Lynk & Co reveals 01 HEV through WeChat

KUALA LUMPUR:  Lynk & Co, the Chinese-Swedish mobility brand has opted for the social media platform yet again to reveal the specifications and first set of images of its new model. This time it’s WeChat, with the help of which the brand has released the details of its 01 SUV’s new hybrid version, 01 HEV.

After the plug-in hybrid and petrol versions, the hybrid powertrain becomes the third one that is jointly developed by its parent companies Volvo and Geely. As for the 01 HEV, most of the mechanicals have been borrowed from the plug-in hybrid model, but in a much simpler and cheaper package.

The HEV ditches the regular petrol model’s 2.0-litre turbocharged four-pot engine and uses the 1.5-litre three-cylinder. This engine of PHEV model can make a maximum power of 180 PS along with the 260 Nm torque. However in the HEV variant, it can deliver the total system output of 197 PS and the peak torque of 355 Nm in combination with an electric motor (linked to the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission). These figures make it less powerful than the PHEV that has a total system output of 262 PS.

Performance-wise, the 01 HEV can complete the famous 0 to 100 kmph sprint in just 8.6 seconds. Together, the total system manages to provide a mileage of 20.83 kmpl. The car comes with three different drivetrain options - Eco, Comfort and Sport. The battery is located at the spine of the car, which makes sure the boot space and passenger space are not much affected.
