Lynk & Co 09 SUV celebrates five successful years of brand operation
KUALA LUMPUR: Lynk & Co is a Chinese automaker backed by Zhejiang Geely Holdings (the same company that holds a 49.9 per cent stake in Proton). Though mainly focused on the Chinese market, Lynk & Co has begun operation in Europe as well. The automaker has completed five successful years of operation and is celebrating the same with the latest 09 flagship SUV.
Unlike all Lynk & Co models that sit on either Volvo's CMA platform or Geely's BMA platform, the all-new 09 flagship SUV underpins the upscale SPA platform. It is the same platform used by the ongoing Volvo XC90.
Priced at CNY 265,900 (i.e. around RM 173k), the Lynk & Co 09 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo mill making a maximum power of 254 hp along with a peak torque of 350 Nm. The power is sent to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Note the brand is offering it in two seating options - six and seven.
Prospective buyers can also opt for CNY 370,900 (approx. RM 240K) 09 Ultra variant. Available in either six or seven seating choices, it is powered by the same plug-in hybrid mill that fuels the XC90 Recharge. The said mill pumps out 431 hp and 659 Nm of torque.
