Lotus Evija EV hypercar configurator rolled out
KUALA LUMPUR: After years of humming, Lotus is ready to start the deliveries of Evija electric hypercar. The order books and online car configurator tool of the model are now opened for the customers. In the recent announcement, the firm revealed the three colors of the supercar and also explained the technology that powers the configurator.
Simon Clare, Executive Director, Global Marketing, Lotus, said: “With state-of-the-art digital tools such as the new configurator, we can accommodate customer preferences and requirements from anywhere in the world at the touch of a button.”
For the electric hypercar, the customers need to shell out around $2 million (RM 8,705,105) before adding options. The buyers will be able to build their individual cars on a special touchscreen tablet equipped with a configurator, specifically designed for the Lotus. It displays photorealistic renders of the vehicle, where all the aspects including wheels, dashboard materials, and shades are open for customization. Atomic Red, Solaris Yellow, and Carbon Black are among the exterior color options.
Speaking of the mechanical bits, the firm claims the output levels of 2000 PS of maximum power and 2000 Nm of peak torque. It can do a sprint of 0-100 kmph in less than three seconds, 0 to 200 kmph in less than six seconds, while 0 to 300 kmph is possible in not more than nine seconds. The top speed is rated at 320 kmph.
The firm also released a teaser video depicting the car inside the Lotus design studio at Hethel, UK, initially in red and black and then yellow and black. The Evija customers will also get a book comprising photos of their cars throughout the production process.
The production is slated to start late this year and just limited to 130 units. To know about the arrival of hypercar in Malaysia and the local buyers, stay tuned with us.
