Based on the automaker’s Electric Premium Architecture, the new Lotus EV measures 5139 mm in length, 2005 mm in width, and 1464 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 3069 mm.
The Emeya underpins the brand’s “porous” design language with a sculpted front fascia featuring a “petal” active lower grille and distinctive double-LED daytime running lights. The roofline smoothly slopes into a sharp rear end, where we can find an active rear spoiler with two selectable levels and a full-width tail light bar. The EV incorporates active aerodynamic elements offering a low drag coefficient of 0.21 Cd.
The base-spec Emeya rides on 20-inch cast alloy wheels shod with 255/45 front and 285/40 rear Pirelli P-Zero tyres while Emeya S and R come fitted with 21-inch forged alloy wheels and 265/40 front and 305/35 rear Pirelli P-Zero units.
The front brake measures 370 mm in diameter and comes with a 4-piston calliper as standard, while higher variants come with a 412 mm unit and a 6-piston calliper. At the rear, the brake diameter starts at 367 mm, increasing to 397 mm in higher trim, all paired with Lotus Aluminium Floating Calipers. Offering a confident, controlled, empowered, and comfortable drive is an electronically controlled air suspension system.
Powering the base Emeya and Emeya S is a dual-motor setup churning out a maximum power of 612 PS and a peak torque of 710 Nm. The grunt is enough to propel the EV from zero to 100 kmph in 4.15 seconds and hit a top speed of 250 kmph.
With the top-spec Emeya R, the customers get more powerful electric motors delivering a total output of 918 PS and 985 Nm of torque. It completes the century sprint in 2.8 seconds which makes it one of the fastest electric GTs in the world.
All variants of the EV come equipped with the same 102-kWh battery pack offering a WLTP-claimed range of 610 km on the base-spec, 540 km on the mid-spec, and 435 km on the top-spec variant. With the help of a 350kW DC fast charger, the battery can juice up from 10% to 80% SoC in less than 18 minutes.
The luxurious cabin of the EV emphasises sustainability and thus uses eco-friendly materials like repurposed luxury threads, PVD aluminium, Alcantara, Nappa leather, and Ultrafabrics PU.
The minimalist interior incorporates an intelligent cockpit with dual 12.6-inch driver and passenger displays and a huge 15.1-inch infotainment unit, mated to KEF's award-winning Uni-Q™ speakers and Dolby Atmos 3D surround sound. As for a quiet, immersive driving experience, Lotus packed the EV with advanced Road Noise Cancellation (RNC) technology that uses sensors and algorithms.
The Lotus Emeya comes packed with intelligent and advanced technology features that ensure a safer and compelling drive. The list includes adaptive cruise control with stop and go, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, front and rear cross traffic alert, lane centring assist, rear collision warning, traffic sign recognition, a 360-degree camera, and park assist.
Powered by dual Nvidia Drive Orin chips, these driver-assistance systems are assisted by retractable lidar sensors on the roof, front fenders, and tailgate. The real-time information is displayed on an industry-leading 55-inch projected augmented reality (AR) head-up display (HUD) for seamless connectivity.
Interested folks can head over to their nearest Lotus dealership to check out the new Emeya in person and reserve one in their name.
