Leapmotor C10 grabs 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating

KUALA LUMPUR: The Leapmotor C10 continues to impress, standing out as a spacious, competitively priced EV with Maserati-tuned driving dynamics and a well-equipped interior. Adding to its accolades, the C10 has now earned the prestigious five-star rating in the new Euro NCAP program.

The electric D-segment SUV scored well in all four categories mentioned below -

The outstanding rating is a testament to the EV’s careful engineering design and strong safety standards. The C10 features a high-strength structure that can effectively absorb and disperse energy in case of a collision. The material utilised for the construction and body offers maximum protection without compromising the performance. 

The Leapmotor EV is packed with a comprehensive airbag system, including front and side airbags, a centre airbag and a safety curtain airbag.

When it comes to advanced safety tech, the vehicle comes with a total of 17 driver assistance functions with the EV, which offers Level 2 semi-autonomous driving capabilities. These include - Adaptive cruise control, Intelligent speed assist, Traffic jam assist, Forward collision warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane departure warning, Lane keeping assist, and more.

The electronic stability program helps the vehicle maintain its control on slippery surfaces. It works in tandem with the anti-lock braking system and traction and thus ensures a safe and stable ride. 

Adding to the safety quotient of the Leapmotor C10 are - tyre pressure monitoring system alerting the driver about unusual pressure changes; high-brightness LED headlights offering optimal visibility in all lighting conditions; and a 360-degree camera facilitating manoeuvring in tight spaces.

Closer to home, Stellantis Malaysia offers the Leapmotor C10 in a sole Design variant, priced at RM 159,000. It comes powered by a 218 PS/320 Nm rear-motor electric motor and a 69.9 kWh battery pack, enabling the EV to cruise up to 424 km range on a full charge.
