KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre is set to be the grand stage for an unparalleled automotive extravaganza, featuring the International Automodified (iAM) and the Malaysia International Motor Expo (MIME) on 8-9 June 2024.

The iAM will kick off its global tour in Kuala Lumpur, marking the first of six international destinations for 2024. Following its launch, the event will proceed to Surabaya, Indonesia, in July, then make its inaugural appearance in California, USA, in August, before continuing to Singapore, Jakarta, and finally concluding in Bangkok, Thailand, in December.
iAM is renowned as the premier car tuning and lifestyle exhibition in Southeast Asia, boasting a legacy of touring over 38 cities since its inception in 2001. It draws a vast assembly of car enthusiasts each year, rewarding nearly 100 awards across various categories.
Reza Aliwarga, the founder of iAM, highlighted the exponential growth of the modified car scene, emphasizing not just the aesthetic customizations but also the advancements in performance enhancements. Since its merger with MIME in 2022, the combined event has attracted over 100,000 attendees, showcasing the latest in automotive innovations, including electric vehicles, and offering a spotlight for the winners of the 2023 COTY awards.
Yamin Vong, MIME's founder, stressed the unique positioning of MIME, aimed at providing a comprehensive view of the automotive market, including offerings from independent vehicle importers.
Additionally, MIME 2024 will feature a focus on after-sales support and vocational training in collaboration with the Skill Development Department (JPT) and the Ministry of Human Resources, highlighting the importance of certified training in electric vehicle maintenance.
The 20th COTY awards will underscore the industry's achievements, including a new category recognizing electric vehicles and EV-friendly properties. An esteemed panel of automotive journalists and experts will adjudicate the awards, celebrating design, technology, safety, and value for money in the latest car models introduced between August 2023 and July 2024.
