Kia's brand relaunch event scheduled for Jan 6

KUALA LUMPUR: It has been a while since we are hearing about Kia's new logo and slogan, with certain images also accompanying the reports. However, nothing was official as Kia continued with the same old brand identity. It's all going to change soon, as Kia Motors have posted a video on their Facebook handle that shows scenic natural beauty in the background with the screen constantly read 'A New Journey Begins' followed by 'Live on 06 Jan 2021 10 AM (GMT).

Kia's new logo first made its appearance in March 2019 on the Imagine Concept, however, back then it didn't receive the needed attention. In terms of aesthetics, the new logo is much cleaner and comes with a better script. Once official, Kia's new logo is expected to appear on five new or redesigned cars that the company plans to launch in 2021. For instance, the all-new Sonata, 2021 Kia Sorento PHEV, next-gen Sportage, Kia K8, and others.

As for the new slogan, we hear that the current ‘The Power To Surprise’ phrase will be replaced by ‘Movement that Inspires’. As that’s what Kia recently trademarked at the Korean intellectual property office.

Apart from a revised band identity, Kia has other big plans too, like scoring high in the EV department. As per automaker's Plan S strategy, at least eleven electric cars will be a part of its lineup. Furthermore, by 2025, it aims 20 percent of its worldwide sales come from EV.
